Congratulations to the chess team of Ainesh Balaga, Sidharth
Balaga, Daniel Chou, Tej Guttikonda, Jeeva Venkat, and Vishal Vijay from
Taylor Road Middle School for their dedication and outstanding achievement
as the 2013 K-8 Georgia State Chess Champions. The rated tournament
was held on March 17 at the Marriott Atlanta Perimeter Center.
This came on the heels of their taking first place in the team competition
at the 12th annual Dr. Martin Luther King chess tournament held
on January 21, sponsored by the Georgia Chess Association. With that win,
they were invited to attend the upcoming Super Nationals in Nashville,
Tennessee this spring, and now they are going as Georgia Champions.
