Bala Reddy Indurti Honored with Sankara Ratna Award and Civic Recognitions

Bala Reddy Indurti received the prestigious Sankara Ratna Award and was honored with a resolution from the State of New Jersey and a proclamation from the Mayor of Edison Township acknowledging his outstanding humanitarian service.

A native of Dindi Chinthapalli in Nagarkurnool District, Telangana, Indurti is a U.S.-based community leader and philanthropist who has actively served the Indian community since 2004.

After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, he moved to the United States, completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science in Texas, and settled in Atlanta in 1992.

Indurti has served as President of the Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA), APNA Foundation, and Sankara Nethralaya USA. As President of Sankara Nethralaya USA since 2018, he expanded the organization’s reach from seven to 29 chapters and led major fundraising efforts, including a record $2 million raised in 2025 to combat preventable blindness in India.

He also spearheaded the launch of three MESU (Mobile Eye Surgical Unit) “Hospitals on Wheels” in Hyderabad, Puttaparthi, and Ettayapuram by raising $1.2 million.
