A 28-year-old Pune man named Vikas recently shared an Instagram video that he titled “Arranged marriage setup but I’m running it like a full system.” The video, which went viral with more than 21,000 likes, shows an Excel spreadsheet he created to keep track of all the women he has been matched with. According to an NDTV report, Vikas works as a procurement analyst at a metal company and has been searching for a bride for about five months. He created the spreadsheet to keep the process organized and easily share details with his parents.
In the first column of the spreadsheet, he lists the first name of the potential bride. Second column: date of the first call. Third column: date of the second call, if it occurred. Fourth column: whether the “talking stage” started. Fifth column: his feedback to parents (positive, negative or neutral). Sixth column: her feedback to parents (positive, negative, neutral or awaited). Seventh column: current status (active, closed, talking, final stage, etc.). Eighth and final column: notes (good conversation, no vibes, values aligned, family match, etc.).
If the spreadsheet is any indication, Vikas is about to get engaged to a woman named Sneha, as he lists the current status as “final stage” and the notes as “family match.” According to Vikas, many of his friends, seeing his method, are also using a similar system of keeping track of potential mates.
