Yash Shirsath (Grayson High School salutatorian) has earned one of the top academic honors in our country… recognition as a 2015 U.S. Presidential Scholar. Shirsath is the only public school student of the three Georgia students selected. He will attend the University of Pennsylvania to major in computer engineering, management of entrepreneurship, and innovation. He has also been awarded a National Merit Scholarship. The 141 scholars were honored for their accomplishments in Washington, D.C., June 21-23.
Another National Merit Scholar is Laboni Hoque (Brookwood High, Probable career field: Medicine, $2,500 Scholarship).
Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation scholarship winners receive $5,000 to $20,000 to attend 2-year or 4-year institutions, respectively. Winners include Simran Khoja (Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology or GSMST) and Krina Patel (Meadowcreek High School).
And Sofia Ali (Brookwood High) will attend Stanford, with her entire college career paid in full after being named a QuestBridge National College Match Recipient.
