Georgia College and State University (GCSU) in Milledgeville, GA, has established the S & R Palvia Endowed Veetraag Vigyaan Professorship in Jain Studies. The professorship is named after Dr. Shailendra Palvia and Rajkumari Palvia, who donated $250,000 to allow the Georgia College Department of Philosophy, Religion, and Liberal Studies to create the professorship. Having an Endowed Professor in Jain Studies will allow GCSU to include Jain perspectives in their humanities courses by the fall of 2023. Dr. Shailendra Palvia is a professor of management information systems at Long Island University.
