Stacey Abrams has endorsed Rohit Malhotra, a Democratic candidate for the Fulton County Commission District 4 seat in the Nov. 3 special election.
Malhotra is one of four candidates who qualified for the District 4 special election. He and Aaron A. Sampson Jr. qualified as Democrats, while Natalie Hall and Karen Rene’ qualified as nonpartisan candidates.
“Rohit represents the bold, smart, and courageous leadership we need in this moment for Georgia and for Fulton County,” Abrams said. “He is a talented leader who has spent much of his life and career in public service. We must elect Democrats like Rohit, those who are fiercely committed to protecting our elections and delivering real solutions for health, safety, the economy and justice.”
Abrams also pointed to the coalition Malhotra has sought to build during his campaign.
“Rohit is building a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, and multi-generational coalition of voters, grounded in a moral framework that understands democracy must act for the people,” she said. “I support and endorse Rohit because of his deep-rooted, proven commitment to community. I hope you’ll vote for my friend, Rohit Malhotra.”
Responding to the endorsement, Malhotra credited Abrams’ work with helping reshape Georgia’s political landscape and opening opportunities for others.
“The seeds of Stacey Abrams’s decades of work and sacrifice have shaped and continue to shift Georgia, the South, and the country,” Malhotra said. “Her greatest contribution will be the doors she broke down and the ceilings she shattered for others, including me.”
“Stacey Abrams may not be on the ballot this November, but the fruit of her labor is,” he added. “I am forever grateful for her guidance, mentorship, and leadership, and now, her endorsement.”
