Bharat Sanders Beats 300 entrants at state level multi-media competition
Ten-year-old 5th Grader, Bharat Sanders dazzled the judges at the Fulton County Technology Fair on January 21st, 2006 by winning the 1st place Award in the 5th and 6th grade division of the Multi-Media competition. Bharat, who goes by "Bert" at his school, Barnwell elementary, then went on to participate in the Georgia State Technology Fair on February 25th, and outdid more than 300 entrants in the Multi-Media category and once again claimed 1st prize. Judges stated "Bharat's presentation was not only very technologically advanced, but it carried a powerful message about what we have done to Mother Earth".
Bharat did a "sing along song" Powerpoint presentation in which the music and lyrics were also his creations. According to Suresh Srinivasan, his technology teacher at Barnwell Elementary, "Bert's entry, ‘Why is Mother Earth Crying,' passionately displayed his creativity, advanced technical skills, artistic ability, as well as his musical talents."
