– President Barack Obama joins
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi’s Republic
Day parade.
His participation is seen as a gesture of cooperation between the United States and India. Traditionally, India invites a chief of state from another nation as a guest of honor at the parade. Obama was the first U.S. head of state to attend the parade.
