Movie Update May 2006
Kajol's comeback film Fanaa is slated for a May release. The actress who reportedly plays the role of a blind girl in the Kunal Kohli-directed movie, is paired opposite Aamir Khan for the first time.
Amitabh Bachchan will be making a special appearance in Gaurang Doshi's Happy Birthday which has John Abraham in the lead. Directed by Sriram Raghavan who had earlier directed Ek HasinaThi, Happy Birthday is a Sci-fi packed with adventure.
Rani Mukherjee has agreed to act in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sister Bela Sehgal's directorial debut. Nothing more is being revealed about the movie at this stage.
Vidya Balan is all set to go international. Deepa Mehta has zeroed in on her to star in her comedy tentatively titled Stella.
Hollywood director Irvin Kershner is currently in Mumbai scouting not only locations but also actors for his next film. The Princess and Wizard will be shot across India and abroad. We aim to promote Bollywood in Hollywood and vice versa. Kershner wants a fresh face from India for the female lead.
Syma Khar, a film producer from Pakistan will be joining hands with Shashi Ranjan to make a commercial film with some top Bollywood actors. The film will be shot in Dubai, Mumbai and Mauritius.
Vipul Shah is all set to get on with his next venture, an Indo-British film titled Namaste London. This love story stars Akshay Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Katrina Kaif besides Pak actor Javed Sheikh. Six British actors are also part of the project.
