After Amitabh Bachchan opted out of Madhur Bhandarkar?s Aan (earlier titled Police Force) reportedly due to non-availability of dates, Shatrughan Sinha who is now the Health Minister in the Central Cabinet, has stepped in to replace him. Apparently, he took the Prime minister?s permission before he accepted the role.
Kareena Kapoor is the latest addition to the never-ending list of stars who have been signed on for JP Dutta?s war saga LoC. Reportedly next to be signed on is Kareena?s friend turned foe Esha Deol who will star opposite Abhishek Bachchan in this movie.
Zayed Khan, son of Sanjay Khan and brother-in-law of Hrithik Roshan, makes his debut opposite Esha Deol in the film Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne which is slated to be released in January 2003.
Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta has reportedly been signed to play Abhishek Bachchan?s love interest in a film which is tentatively titled Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost directed by Apoorva Lakhiya.
After Fiza, Khalid Mohamed, for his second directorial venture Tehzeeb has decided to cast Shabana Azmi and Urmila Matondkar. Apparently, he was very impressed with Urmila?s performance in Pinjar when he saw the rushes of the movie and promptly offered her Tehzeeb after Tabu said she couldn?t do it due to non-availability of dates.
Deepa Mehta?s Bollywood/Hollywood, a romantic musical comedy is raking in the big bucks in Canada and recently released in India too. The film has Rahul Khanna and Canadian-born Indian supermodel Lisa Ray in the leading roles. Set in Toronto, Bollywood/ Hollywood is a classic example of East meeting West replete with Bollywood songs and Hollywood choreography.
