AJAY-KAJOL IN A NEW ROLE
Ajay Devgan is the latest dad in tinseltown. Wife Kajol gave birth to a baby girl on April 20. Ajay who was earlier seen puffing away at a cigarette nervously outside the nursing home, said that the feeling was gradually sinking in, but of course, "I'm very excited." The doting father-to-be reportedly used to shower Kajol with raspberries all the way from Manali so that she would remain in the pink of health and deliver a bonny baby. Well, it worked! And the doting husband lost no time in gifting his wife a sleek Mercedes Benz. Kajol had suffered a miscarriage the first time she was pregnant.
FATHER, SONS IN A PACKAGE DEAL
Big B and Bachchan Junior might be coming together in a film about a father-son relationship, if industry buzz is to be believed. Production house IDream, who have been involved with Mira Nair's ?Monsoon Wedding' and Gurinder Chadha's ?Bend It Like Beckham' have reportedly approached the Bachchans and while Abhishek is rumoured to have heard the narration, Papa Bachchan is yet to hear the story, since he was away in South Africa. It only proves one thing: There are still a select few who have faith in Aby's Baby! Abhishek meanwhile, is keeping his fingers crossed for his next release Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost in which his co-star is the sultry Ex-Miss Universe Lara Dutta. Set against a rural backdrop, the film, according to some observers, could well turn out to be another Lagaan! If that happens, it could do wonders for the hit-starved Abhishek.
Meanwhile, in a casting coup of sorts, director Anil Sharma of Gadar fame is said to have roped in the 3 Punjab da Puttars ? Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol to play reel life father and sons for the Deols' home production.
AJAY JADEJA ON FILMI CREASE
Whether running around trees or between wickets, Ajay Jadeja claims he's comfortable doing both! Yes, the ?former' cricketer's filmi innings are about to take off with his debut film Khel earlier titled Pal Pal Dil Ke Saath. There's confusion galore though, as some reports treat these as two different movies. Guess one will just have to wait and watch! Ajay's co-star in Khel is his real life buddy, Sunil Shetty whom Ajay describes as a "gem". Bet no one knows that "the first film I was offered had me paired with Madhuri Dixit. Alas, it never materialised due to date hassles," rues Ajay. His fans now want to see their hero pitching his talent in another field, playing an altogether different ball game.
Meanwhile, here's another sixer: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar no less, has reportedly been fixed to play a key role in the film Sab Golmaal Hai. The producer Sangeeta Ahir claims that Tendulkar has heard the script and that if all goes well, Sachin will soon sign on the dotted line. Sachin, however, refuses to confirm or deny the rumour. Howzzat!
OLD FLAMES SET TO REKINDLE AGAIN
Old flames Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon are reportedly coming together in a movie titled Vidroh (Rebellion). "Actually the movie was started years ago and we're completing it now. You see, we're both thorough professionals," explains the mast-mast girl. That's not all: Akki has also been offered a film opposite his other former flame Shilpa Shetty. Let's just hope wife Twinkle doesn't sound a note of vidroh! Though by the looks of it, she need not fear. Akshay has become quite the ideal husband and an even better father! "I like nothing better than to spend time with my seven-month-old son Arav and watch him grow up," says the actor, who by his own admission has made enough money to be choosy about the films he does.
While on Ravishing Ravs, even as she waits for her home production Stumped to see the light of day, she has reportedly been approached for a meaty, woman-oriented role in Subrata Sen's English movie titled For Shirin: The Woman. Raveena will in all probability be paired opposite Rahul Bose in the film.
