WWAAC National Spotlight Award for Mohammad Azam

WWAAC Alliance Foundation has honored Mohammad (Mo) Azam, Vice President Corporate Internal Audit and Compliance & Ethics at UPS, with its 2019 National Spotlight Award. The award function was held on November 13, 2019 at UPS World Headquarters, Atlanta.

As Chief Audit & Compliance Executive at UPS, Mo’s current responsibilities include global auditing, compliance, ethics-related activities, enterprise risk management, and privacy process. He was previously Global Financial Process Controller, and Global Controller for Supply Chain Solutions.

WWAAC Alliance Foundation is a nonprofit that honors the contributions of Asian Americans to society and highlights their concerns through varied public platforms.

Prior to joining UPS, Mo was Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Mellon Bank’s leasing group. He has held senior finance positions at large multinationals including Ford Motor Company, Dole Packaged Foods, and Sega Internet Games, and worked in accounting at KPMG. Between 1991 and 1999, Mohammad taught graduate and undergraduate Finance and Accounting courses as an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University in California.

Mr. Azam has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and MBA in Finance from Golden Gate University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the State of California and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). He is also on the Board of Governors of IIA Atlanta Chapter. In 2015, he was honored with the National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Award by OCA Business Advisory Council (BAC).
