Vivek Sarkar is new dean of Georgia Tech’s College of Computing
Vivek Sarkar has been named Dean of the Georgia Institute of Technology’s College of Computing. He is currently the Chair of Georgia Tech’s School of Computer Science and the Stephen Fleming Chair for Telecommunications in the College of Computing, where he conducts research on parallel computing software. He is a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers as well as a member of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Scientific Computing Advisory Committee and the ACM Council. As Dean of the College of Computing, Sarkar will be in charge of the college’s various degree programs, school partnerships, and research projects.
