Two U.S. presidential scholars from Georgia
June 2014
Meghana R. Nallajerla, of Milton High School, Alpharetta, and Sathvik R. Namburar, of Woodward Academy, College Park, have been announced by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan as Georgia’s two members of the 50th class of U.S. Presidential Scholars. Of the three million students expected to graduate from high school this year, more than 3,900 candidates qualified for the 2014 awards; the 141 winners will be honored in a ceremony in June in Washington, D.C. “These scholars … represent the potential of all young citizens to lift up America,” said Duncan.
