Team Atlantis shines at its first robotics tournament
Atman Singh, Ayyan Vellore, Arav Dash, and Sammy Shalim (L to R)—13-year-old eighth-graders from Johns Creek—are the brains behind the robotics team Atlantis 17456 that partnered in a 3-team alliance to win the First Tech Challenge’s Central Georgia League Tournament in January. A total of 26 teams from the North Atlanta region, stretching from Marietta to Lawrenceville, competed in the Challenge. Team Atlantis also received the Collins Aerospace Innovate Award for their “ingenuity and creative robot design solution,” and they placed second in Design and third in Controls. The team hopes to progress through the Georgia State Championship to World Championship, to be held in Houston this year.
