South Asian Americans included in Atlanta magazine’s Top 500
Atlanta magazine has featured many local community leaders in its Top 500 list this year. They include Ambrish Baisiwala, CEO and chairman of Portman Holdings and former development manager for the Greater Union Organization (Real Estate and Design category). In its Business category, Atlanta listed president and CEO of KORE, Romil Bahl; CEO and founder of MSys Technologies and Forbes Business Council member, Sanjay Sehgal; and CEO, founder, and president of One Trust and Aspen Institute’s Henry Crown Fellow, Kabir Barday. The list also honored, in the Nonprofits and Advocacy category, Aparna Bhattacharya, executive director of Raksha, Inc. and the 2013 White House Champion of Change; and Gaurav Kumar, president of the Andrew J. Young Foundation. Neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta was featured in the Professionals category.
In the Education and Healthcare category, Atlanta listed chief medical officer at Clarkston Community Health Center and 2023 AARP Purpose Prize Fellow, Dr. Gulshan Harjee; executive director of Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute and editor-in chief of Cancer, Dr. Suresh S. Ramalingam; and Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Business at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and Padma Bhushan recipient, Dr. Jagdish N. Sheth. Mit Shah, CEO and founder of Noble Investment Group and the Penn State Hotel & Restaurant Society’s 2023 Hospitality Executive of the Year, was featured in the Restaurants and Hospitality category.
Shaneel Lalani, CEO and founder of Lalani Ventures and the owner of Underground Atlanta, was featured in the Real Estate and Design category. In the Government and Infrastructure category, Rohit Malhotra was featured for his work as founder and executive director of the Center for Civic Innovation.
