Simi Shah wins award for piano teaching literature
Simi Nitin Shah, aged 13, was awarded the prestigious Lynn Freeman Olson Composition Award (Intermediate category) along with $500 in May 2011. The award was announced at the National Federation of Music Clubs Biennial Convention in Virginia. Simi composed and wrote “Fragile Dreams,” which will be published and played all over the country as “an excellent contribution to the world of piano teaching literature."
Simi began playing piano at age 6 and has earned 7 consecutive superiors at annual competitions. Her utmost passion is music, and she loves to compose all types of music from American classical to Asian Indian music. Along with piano, her interests include dance and art, and she aspires to use her artistic abilities in school.
