Saif Ahmed Wins Multiple Science Awards
Saif Ahmed, a 13-year-old at Dickerson Middle School, is an up-and-coming young scientist who aims to be a cardiologist and researcher. His innovative efforts have earned him multiple awards, the latest being at the Georgia Science & Engineering Fair held at UGA, Athens, where his project, “Analyzing the Efficiency of Sorbents in Oil Spills – Year 2,” made him a finalist earning the only 1st honors from Cobb County in the Junior Division, as well as outstanding 8th Grade Project Award, Broadcom Masters Nominee – Washington, and UGA Family & Consumer Sciences - Solutions leading to a Sustainable Environment Award. Saif’s extracurricular activities include basketball and playing violin.
