Sachin Shailendra, Board of Regents Chair, USG
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) has elected Regent Sachin Shailendra to a one-year term as the Board’s 2020 chair, serving 333,000 students in 26 public colleges and universities as well as the GA Public Library Service and the Georgia Archives.
Shailendra is a Woodward Academy and Georgia Tech graduate, the founder and president of SG Contracting, Inc., a Rotarian and member of the Atlanta Police Foundation, and a board member of both Georgia REACH Foundation and the Children’s Health Care of Atlanta’s Sports Network.
He is known for his integrity, honesty, and commitment to client satisfaction, and his construction experience and ability to solve problems and effectively communicate plans and processes make him a valuable leader.

Shailendra is the founder and president of SG Contracting, Inc., and is known for his integrity, honesty and commitment to client satisfaction. Shailendra is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and an alumnus of Woodward Academy, where he has served as former President of the Alumni Association and Member of the school’s Advisory Council. He is a current Member of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. He is a Member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta and a Member of the Atlanta Police Foundation. He is also a Board Member of both the Georgia REACH Foundation and the Children’s Health Care of Atlanta’s Sports Network.
Shailendra resides in Metro Atlanta with his wife, Stacy Galan Shailendra and their nine-month old twins, Sydney and Sutton.
