National STEM chair created in India in the name of Raman Parimala
Prof. Raman Parimala, Arts & Sciences Distinguished Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Emory College of Arts and Siences is one of 11 “STEM” Indian women scientists being recognized by the Indian government with a chair created in their honor. She is well-known for her ontributions to algebra, including her demonstration of the first example of a “non-trivial quadratic space over an affine plane” and her solution to the second Serre conjecture.
