Munir Meghjani honored in Emory’s “40 Under Forty”
Progressive Thinker, Social Entrepreneur, Connector of People, and Dedicated Community Member—that’s Munir Meghjani, and that’s why he was recently honored by the Emory University Alumni Association as one of their first “40 Under Forty.”
Munir started his career as an Associate Director at Emory University and as a Transition Consultant for Paycom HR, an Inc. 500 company. Currently, he works as a Commercial and Investment Real Estate Advisor at Sands Investment Group and is a serial entrepreneur. Capitalizing on his entrepreneurial spirit, he cofounded Knock on Wood Creations Inc., a company specializing in custom wood accessories. His other endeavors include an efficiency and effectiveness consulting firm, photography business, and college application prep company.
Munir serves as the Executive Director of HOPE Inc, an Atlanta based nonprofit organization he cofounded. HOPE creates interactive events to re-engage young adults in service and bring the community together. He also played a critical role in the start of AROMA (Activist Recruiting Organizing & Mentoring in Atlanta), a group geared towards strategically and creatively mobilizing activists.
He sits on several boards including The Emory University Alumni Board, as Development Chair; Georgia State’s RIALTO Center for Arts, as Chairman of the Board; Oxford College Alumni Board; Leadership DeKalb; and Interfaith Community Initiatives (ICI), where he works with diverse individuals promoting interfaith dialogue. Munir was the youngest person to be a faith leader on ICI: World Pilgrimage©. Past boards include: Compassionate Atlanta; American Jewish Community: Muslim-Jewish Coalition Co-Chair; the Ismaili Professional's Network; and the Emory Development Board.
Munir was recently honored as part of the inaugural “40 Under 40 Georgia Muslim” by the Islamic Speakers Bureau. He won the 2016 OPEN Atlanta Pitch Tank and received the Sands Investment Group "Pacesetter Award." He is also a graduate of the inaugural Emerging Leadership DeKalb Class of 2017.
As an “activational” speaker, Munir is passionate about sharing his knowledge and life experiences, which has led him to speak to diverse groups of people around the world. His motivation comes from a mantra he adopted at an early age: “I can’t do all the service the world needs, but the world needs all the service I can do!”
Munir graduated from Emory University in 2010 with a B.A. in Psychology focusing on Sociology and Philosophy.
