The Georgia General Assembly passed a resolution declaring February 20, 2024, as Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan Day at the state capitol to honor his service to the State of Georgia. Dr. Indrakrishnan is a gastroenterologist and an adjunct professor of medicine at Emory University’s School of Medicine and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was the first physician of Asian heritage to be appointed by any governor of Georgia to serve on the Georgia Board of Healthcare Workforce and has previously served as the president and a board member of the Georgia Gastroenterological and Endoscopic Society and the Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian Heritage. Dr. Indrakrishnan is a trustee at the Hindu Temple of Atlanta and currently serves on the boards of charities such as Rainbow Village, Third Eye Dances, Georgia Colorectal Cancer, Meals By Grace, and Fill Ministries.
