Dr. Shyam Reddy receives multiple awards
Dr. E. Shyam P. Reddy, GCC Distinguished Cancer Scholar, Professor and Co-Director, Cancer Biology Program, Department of OB/GYN, Morehouse School of Medicine was honored with the International Gold Star Award by His Excellency Korn Dabbransi, former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, for “individual excellence for national and international progress in science and medicine.” The India International Friendship Society (IIFS) organized this meeting in Bangkok, Thailand in June, 2012 to express their appreciation for the existing Indo-Thai friendship and to take it further it by creating awareness.
Dr. Reddy was also honored in New Delhi with three other awards for his cancer research, during the Friendship Forum of India (FFI) Conference on Economic Growth and National Unity: Best Personalities of India Award, Super Achievers of India Award, and Bharat Excellence Award. These awards are presented to Indians, living in India or around the world, who have made a mark in their field and enhanced the Indian image.
Dr. Reddy thanks his collaborator, Dr. Veena N. Rao, Professor and Co-Director of the Cancer Biology Program at Morehouse School of Medicine, as well as all the post-docs and students who worked passionately and diligently to help achieve great strides in cancer research. He also acknowledges GRA/GCC, NIH, and DOD organizations for providing support for his work.
