Dr. Indrakrishnan was introduced to the House of Representatives by Rep. Howard Maxwell, who told of Dr. Indrakrishnan's many awards and publications. He elaborated on Dr. Indrakrishnan's community service, which includes serving on the boards of Fight Colorectal Cancer, a national nonprofit patient advocacy organization, and Third Eye Dancers, a nonprofit organization working to bring awareness of social issues affecting chil- dren and to raise funds for charity through dance.
Georgia State Senator David Shafer made the introduction to the Senate, explaining that Dr. Krishnan, besides his excellent patient care, has been serving in numerous committees, from the American College of Gastroenterology to the Royal College of Physicians of London. He participates in examination board activities, is on a board of directors, is a peer reviewer for the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners and has served in the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
Dr. Indrakrishnan thanked the legislators for their dedicated service and hard work in keeping Georgia safe and economically wise even though they are underappreciated and underpaid. Dr. Indrakrishnan is a graduate of the Medical Association of Georgia’s Physicians Leadership Academy.

Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan is an Atlanta gastroenterologist from Duluth and an adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. He was honored at the Georgia State Capitol on August 24, 2011, for providing medical care to the members of the General Assembly as well as to the community of Georgia.
