Dr. Gulshan Harjee received the 2021 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award in a virtual awards ceremony at the State Capitol of Georgia. The award is named after Honorable Nikki Randall, the first African American woman elected to the Georgia Assembly from Middle Georgia, and is given to women who are changing their communities. Dr. Harjee was nominated by the Honorable Elena Parent of District 43 for co-founding the fast-growing Clarkston Community Health Center, a linguistically, culturally and ethnically sensitive volunteer-operated free clinic that currently serves 5500 patients through eight academic collaborations. She has also been included among L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth National Honorees, Atlanta magazine’s 500 most Powerful Leaders, and President George Bush’s Points of Light Honorees.
