Annapurna Bhat has been named president of the North America Vishwa Kannada Association (NAVIKA) for the year 2024-25. NAVIKA is a nonprofit that focuses on preserving and promoting the culture of Karnataka among the tens of thousands of Kannadigas living in the U.S. Dr. Bhat is a physician specializing in rheumatology and was named the Top Georgia Rheumatologist in 2018. She is also a trustee of the nonprofit Nrupathunga Kannada Koota, the chair of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI)’s Women Physicians Committee, the chair of the Indian American International Chamber of Commerce’s (IAICC) Women Entrepreneurs Board, an executive board member of IAICC’s Washington chapter, a trustee of the Hindu Temple of Atlanta, a member of the advisory board of Clayton State University, and is a board member for many other organizations. She and her husband, Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat, established the Subra, Anu, & Kiran Foundation.
