Community journalism award for Mahadev Desai

Mahadev Desai has been presented with an award by the Hindu Temple of Atlanta “for his homage to truth by sharing news and information with Indian- Americans and mainstream audiences accurately and objectively through his journalistic and media skills firmly rooted in modesty and knowledge of Indian Cultural and Traditional Values.” The award was presented at the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations by Subash Razdan, president of the Gandhi Foundation of USA. Desai was then honored by V. Muraleedharan, Union Minister of External Affairs, in presence of the Consul General of India in Atlanta, Dr. Swati Kulkarni, and other dignitaries at Global Mela in Norcross. Awarded 11 times in his 18 years of reporting, Tanzania-born Mahadev Desai has been a regular contributor to several local and regional publications including Khabar.Read about our other Newsmakers of the Month here:
