Chand Akkineni Elected to Tie-Global Board Of Trustees
Atlanta-based entrepreneur and community leader Chand Akkineni has been elected to the Board of Trustees of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneur)-Global for a 3-year term.
Founded in 1992 by Silicon Valley-based professionals with roots in the Indian subcontinent, TiE-Global is a nonprofit organization with 45 chapters spread across 10 countries. It has over 10,000 active members and more than 1400 charter members. The TiE-Global Board of 15 trustees and 5 advisors sets the direction for TiE in promoting the "creation of wealth" worldwide. TiE members have reportedly generated over $250 billion in revenue.
"It is an honor for me to work with very successful entrepreneurs and take their help to promote entrepreneurship in Atlanta," Akkineni told Khabar.
Akkineni is the founder and CEO of World Online, an Internet solutions company, and Softpros, an IT solutions company. A member of the Board of Directors for India American Cultural Association (IACA), he is also a trustee for the Atlanta International School in Buckhead. He was one of 60 entrepreneurs selected by Inc. magazine, YEO and MIT to attend a residency program at MIT.
