Atlantans included in National Academy of Inventors Fellows

The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) elected 175 prolific academic innovators from across the world to NAI Fellow status. Among the 21 Indian -American Fellows on the list are Nikil Jayant of Georgia Tech, and Rahul Shrivastav of University of Georgia. Serving as VP for Instruction, Shrivastav has received numerous awards and honors including the Colonel Allan R. and Margaret G. Crow Term Professorship at the University of Florida. His research is focused on speech perception abilities as well as speech production deficits in people with various diseases. Jayant, professor emeritus for Technical Interest Groups: Telecommunications, has received many awards including IISc Distinguished Alumnus Award and IEEE Browder Thompson Paper Award. His research interests include signal compression, multimedia communications, wireless systems, broadband access and broadband services.
