Atlanta team of young entrepreneurs wins 1st place at Global TiE Competition

TYE is TiE Atlanta’s Young Entrepreneurs. After 9 months of working with TiE, through education, mentorship (with Sanjiv Tandon), pitch sessions, and winning the local competition at TiECON SE in April, TYE team Terra Bacter beat 17 other teams from TiE's global chapter ecosystem in an event in Vancouver, BC. They are the first team to win this honor after presenting virtually.
Terra Bacter's mission is to help farmers, end hunger,and save the planet by providing an alternative, eco-friendly bioremediation technique to efficiently lower the acidity level of affected soils, increase arable farm land, and solve world hunger.
TYE is one of five pillar programs that aim to foster entrepreneurship in high school students. The Atlanta program will begin its 5th year in September 2014.
