Arshi Lalani is Miss India USA first runner up
At the Miss India USA pageant 2021 held in New Jersey on July 16, Atlantan Arshi Lalani was declared first runner up. What makes her achievement so inspiring is that Lalani, 20, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She underwent surgery just a few months before she decided to compete. Lalani, who was accepted into Georgia Tech in 2020, had enormous support from Aziz and Rozina Arshi, her loving parents. Diana Hayden, Miss World 1997, presided as the chief guest and chief judge for the pageant. Vaidehi Dongre from Michigan was crowned Miss India USA and North Carolina’s Mira Kasari was declared the second runner up.
