APAC scholarship for Monica Acharya

Monica Acharya, a senior at Lakeside High School, has been awarded a scholarship from the Asian
Pacific American Council (APAC). She plans to attend Georgia Southern University, where her father is a professor, to pursue a pharmacy degree.
As well as being a straight-A student, she likes painting and playing piano. She is an active member of the Key Club, French Club, International Club, and FBLA.
“Since I believe that culture makes a person who they are,” she says, she participates in programs in the Nepali community and volunteers in many ways, including teaching language and culture.
