A. Madabhushi co-leads Emory’s cancer initiative

Anant Madabhushi is coleading a team from Emory University, including researchers at Winship Cancer Institute, in a project that has been awarded up to $17.6 million from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). The project, titled MarginCall, is set to transform how surgical margins are evaluated during cancer surgeries, with an initial focus on breast and ovarian cancer. A global leader in developing AI to improve outcomes for individuals with cancer and other diseases, Madabhushi leads the Madabhushi Lab at Emory University School of Medicine, which focuses on advancing AI to serve humanity. He holds a primary faculty appointment in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) and secondary appointments in other departments at Emory.
