KHAN BLOG QUOTES
On his busy schedule: “I feel like I’ve been stuffed into a washing machine which doesn’t have an off button. After this I really need to be put out to dry in the sun and left alone.”
On movie piracy: “I am deeply disappointed with those of you who have watched TZP (Taare Zameen Par) on a pirated DVD/VCD, or when illegally shown on cable, or on websites which have illegally uploaded the film. How can you be my fans, or fans of Indian Cinema, or any cinema for that matter if you steal from us? Sad.”
On the CD release for Taare Zameen Par: “The music is out in stores and I am absolutely petrified. My stomach is churning and I am going weak in the knees. Even after so long I can't get over the butterflies in the stomach. So I’m going to go hide in a hole for sometime.”
On the response to Taare Zameen Par: “The response that I have got for my very first film is like a dream response. I couldn’t have imagined a better response and all my day dreams have come true. Gladly all my pinching is in vain and I am still awake.”

KHAN FACTS
The son of movie producer Tahir Hussain, he made his acting debut at age 8 in Yaadon Ki Baraat (1973). He was 19 when he made his adult debut, playing a supporting role in Holi (1984). His first leading role came in 1988, when he was cast next to Juhi Chawla in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
Considered one of India’s finest actors, he has won critical acclaim for his performances in such movies as Rang De Besanti and the Oscar-nominated Lagaan (2001). He made his directorial debut in the recently released Taare Zameen Par, which he also produced and acted in.
Khan is married to Kiran Rao, who was an assistant to director Ashutosh Gowariker during the filming of Lagaan. He was married to his first wife, Reena Dutta, for 15 years and has two children with her, son Junaid and daughter Aira. He reportedly also has a child with his ex-girlfriend, British writer Jessica Hines.
KHAN TRIVIA
He’s among a number of family members in the movie industry, including brother Faisal Khan, an actor, and sister Nikhat Khan, a producer. His late uncle Nasir Hussain was a director, as was his cousin Mansoor Khan.
A former state tennis champion of Maharashtra, he follows tennis closely and is an admirer of Roger Federer. “I find that when I watch him play I feel inspired to do better work, though it has no connection. I don't know how to explain it,” he wrote on his blog.
