GOOD SPORTS: Inspirational Runner
March 2013
Fans of Fauja Singh may be disappointed to hear that the 101-year-old man won’t be running competitively any longer. The world’s oldest marathon runner, dubbed the “Turbaned Tornado,” planned to make last month’s Hong Kong marathon his final competitive race. The Ilford, England, resident started running at age 89, proving that it’s never too late to try something new, even if it’s as arduous as running a marathon. He has inspired millions of people around the world and plans to continue doing so, running four hours a day. “Running is my life,” he told Times of India. “I will keep running to inspire the masses.”
