Good Sports: Tendulkar Joins Cricket Ownership Group
Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar recently joined the ownership group of the National Cricket League (NCL), which completed its inaugural Sixty Strikes Tournament last month at University of Texas at Dallas.
“Cricket has been my life’s greatest journey, and I am pleased to join the National Cricket League at such an exciting time for the sport in the U.S.,” Tendulkar said in a statement. “The NCL’s vision to create a platform for world-class cricket while inspiring a new generation of fans resonates with me.”
The NCL currently has six teams: New York Lions, Atlanta Kings, Los Angeles Waves, Texas Gladiators, Dallas Lonestars, and Chicago Cricket Club. The inaugural season saw Shahid Afridi, Suresh Raina, and other well-known players from around the world compete in a fastpaced, 10-over format of cricket.
