She recently won two gold medals in the 400m race, becoming the Asian under-18 champion in April and the Asian under-20 champion in June.
The Kolkata runner, who is coached by Arjun Ajay in Bengaluru, set an Asian under-18 record of 52.98 seconds at the Asian U18 Athletics Championships in Uzbekistan. She was .34 seconds slower at the Asian U20 Athletics Championships in South Korea, but still managed to win the race.
“I still have a long way to go,” she told The Hindu. “I still have many medals to win.”
