Good Sports: Team USA Shocks Pakistan in T20 World Cup
Participating in the T20 World Cup for the first time, the U.S. men’s national cricket team upset Pakistan in a group-stage victory that stunned cricket fans across the globe.
The U.S. team, composed mainly of players with roots in South Asia and the Caribbean, won the match by 5 runs in a Super Over, playing in front of a crowd of mostly Pakistan fans in the Dallas suburb of Grand Prairie.
Saurabh Netravalkar, a 32-year-old engineer at Oracle who bowled the team to victory in the Super Over, received wide acclaim in India, where he once played for the national junior team.
“Proud of the team and our very own engineering and cricket star,” Oracle said in a post on X.
