Good Sports : KNIGHT RIDERS BUY STAKE IN U.S. CRICKET LEAGUE
Could a Knight Riders team be playing in the United States in 2022?
The Knight Riders Group and its majority owner Shah Rukh Khan have become stakeholders in Major League Cricket, a six-team professional T20 league that’s being developed by USA Cricket and its partner American Cricket Enterprises. Matches are expected to be played in 22 cities, including Atlanta, during a nine-week span.
The Knight Riders Group owns the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League.
“For several years now, we have been expanding the Knight Riders brand globally and closely watching the potential for T20 cricket in the USA,” said Khan, whose partners include fellow Bollywood star Juhi Chawla.
