Good Sports: KAUR SHINES AT WOMEN’S WORLD T20
Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of India’s women’s cricket team, was the second highest run-maker at the recent ICC Women’s World T20 2018, a 16-day tournament held across three venues in the West Indies. Kaur scored a total of 183 runs, including a match-winning 103 in the tournament opener against New Zealand.
Australia opener Alyssa Healy was the top batter with 225 runs, leading her squad to a record fourth ICC Women’s World T20 title with an eight-wicket win over England in the final at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
The Indian team, which lost to England in the semifinal, had three players named to the team of the tournament: Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Poonam Yadav.
