Good Sports: KABADDI DOMINANCE CONTINUES
India is unlikely to win the World Cup in soccer anytime soon, but it has twice won the World Cup in cricket and remains dominant in kabaddi. At the 2018 Dubai Kabaddi Masters, India beat chief rival Iran 44-26 in the final.
Led by star raider Ajay Thakur, India won all six of its matches in the six-team tournament. It was the first international kabaddi event in the UAE, another sign of the growing popularity of the sport.
India has also won all three World Cups in standard style kabaddi (2004, 2007, and 2016) and all five in circle style (2010 to 2014, and 2016).
