Good Sports: Angad Bedi Dedicates Medal to Late Father
Angad Bedi, the 40-year-old actor known for movies such as Pink and Dear Zindagi, won a gold medal in a 400-meter masters race in Dubai and dedicated his win to his late father, Bishan Singh Bedi, the legendary cricketer.
“He always said to keep your head down and let your actions speak,” Bedi said, following his win at the Open International Masters 2023 Athletics Championship. “I have always been deeply inspired by his wisdom. I did this race because that’s what my father would have wanted. It’s my way of honoring him and his legacy. Sportsmanship is in my blood.”
Bishan Singh Bedi, who passed away on Oct. 23 at the age of 77, played Test cricket for India from 1966 to 1979. A left-arm spinner, he also captained India’s squad for 22 Test matches.
