FLYING WITH MUSH
Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf decided to return to his home country in March after four years of self-exile. And thanks to the All Pakistan Muslim League, supporters of the former military ruler were given a chance to travel, have dinner and/or take a photo with him—all for a cost, of course. Billed as “a unique opportunity to travel with General Musharraf to Pakistan” on Eventbrite.com, it offered four levels of participation.
For $2,500, you could get a one-way ticket on the same plane as Musharraf from Dubai to Pakistan, as well as a photo opportunity, reception, and dinner in Dubai the night before departure.
For $1,000, you could have the dinner, reception, and photo op in Dubai. For $500, you could have the reception and photo op. And for a mere $250, you could shake Musharraf’s hand and have your photo taken with him.
But what if you had only $100 to spare? The organizers didn’t say, but perhaps Musharraf would have blown you a kiss from his hotel balcony.
