DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN?
1. A store clerk of Indian origin was charged with stealing a $1 million winning lottery ticket from a customer in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
2. Police in Telangana filed charges against a man for a YouTube video showing how to make a traditional curry using a peacock, India’s national bird.
3. Opposition parties in India blamed the BJP for the disqualification of wrestler Vinesh Phogat from her Olympic gold medal match for being 100 grams overweight.
4. Vinesh Phogat’s coach said that any politician who criticizes her should be required to step on a scale themselves.
5. The Gujarat government began an investigation of a schoolteacher who allegedly moved to the U.S. in 2016 but continues to be on the payroll of a government school.
(1, 2, 3 and 5 really happened.)
