DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN?
1. A 49-year-old man was sentenced to more than three years in prison for being part of a smuggling ring and arranging Uber rides for Indians who had illegally crossed the border from Canada.
2. At the recent state dinner for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House, the menu included marinated millet and crisped millet cakes.
3. Guests at the state dinner were also offered four wines, including “Domaine de Millet Rosé.”
4. A 10th grader asked author Preeti Shenoy if she would write a 10-line poem on kindness for the student’s homework assignment.
5. Shenoy kindly declined.
(1, 2, 4 and 5 really happened.)
