Movie Update
Aravind Adiga's Man Booker winner The White Tiger will be made into a Hollywood film soon. John Hart's newly formed Smuggler Films has reportedly acquired rights to The White Tiger as its first project. Both Vikas Swarup's novel Q & A, on which Slumdog Millionaire was based, and Adiga's novel focus on "class tensions in contemporary India."
Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt will share screen space in Sanjay’s next production to be directed by David Dhawan. This film is going to be Ranbir’s first foray into the slapstick comedy genre.
Ranbir will also be seen as a Sikh in his next movie titled Rocket Singh—Salesman of the Year. The film is directed by Shimit Amin and written by Jaideep Sahani, the successful Chak De! India duo.
According to reports, Meghna Gulzar will now be directing Pritish Nandy’s version of Devdas, after Sudhir Mishra walked out of the project. Shiney Ahuja has been cast in the eponymous role.
