First things first: Delhi Belly is not for the moralists, purists or the faint-hearted. It is strictly for those who have an appetite for adult comedy, toilet humor and swear words. Bollywood’s most irreverent and bold comical crime caper till date, Delhi Belly will surely encourage filmmakers to explore further this untapped genre of cinema. Kudos to writer Akshat Verma for giving Bollywood one of its smartest scripts.

Tashi (Imran Khan), Nitin (Kunaal Roy Kapur) and Arup (Vir Das) are buddies and roommates. A strange mix-up regarding a packet that has to be delivered to a local gangster (Vijay Raaz), sees the threesome get embroiled in Delhi’s crazy underworld. That’s when their troubles (and fun for us) begin.

Stellar performances by the entire cast are undoubtedly the film’s high point. This is Imran Khan’s best, and most uninhibited, act to date. Vir Das is terrific and Kunaal Roy Kapur is the scene-stealer. And what does one say about Vijay Raaz! The guy is exceptional.

The audio score and lyrics are completely innovative and totally in sync with the mood of the movie. DK Bose and Chudail stand out.

Watch Delhi Belly to experience Bollywood’s true coming of age, where characters actually speak the language real young people speak. The youth should love this Aamir Khan production for its outrageous humor and appeal.
