MOVIE REVIEW: War
War
Starring: Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor
Director: Siddharth Anand
Music Director: Vishal-Shekhar
If you go to the theater expecting just a testosterone-filled ride, you will not be disappointed. But you definitely will be, if you go looking for a complex plot or layered characters. So do yourself a favor. Do not expect anything beyond the explosive chemistry between the two leading men, and the gorgeous landscapes to feast your eyes on.
A young Indian soldier Khalid Rahmani (Tiger Shroff) is assigned the task of tracking down and arresting his former mentor Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) who has inexplicably gone rogue, and is killing Indian officers. An interesting premise all right, but a lackluster and predictable script prevents it from developing interestingly.
Hrithik is in great form as the anti-hero, with his gracefully ageing visage and the flecks of grey in his temples only adding to his oomph. Tiger Shroff too gets his moment of glory, and it’s good to see the guy try to act for a change! Together the two hunks are quite a treat to watch. Vaani Kapoor is effective to the extent that she can be in a small role. Anupriya Goenka as an analyst makes her presence felt, while fine performers like Ashutosh Rana and Soni Razdan seem somewhat wasted.
But you can go watch War whose real heroes actually are the four action directors!
