Ranbir Kapoor to play Rajiv Gandhi
It’s a dream come true for the Kapoor khandaan scion. Ranbir Kapoor is playing his favourite political personality, the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, in Prakash Jha’s Rajniti. “I could think of no one else,” says Jha. “Ranbir exudes an aura of dignity and calm. He will make a very convincing and credible Rajiv.” The film will also have shades of Mahabharat. The hunt is on for an international actress to play Sonia Gandhi
Meanwhile, Ranbir and and his lady-love Deepika have come even closer, literally so. The pretty actress who was on a house-hunting spree, has finally zeroed in on a plush apartment located near her beau’s house. So finally, Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh have got the message, right?
Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic between Rani, Saif
Though Saif Ali Khan is creating off-screen magic with Kareena Kapoor, it is Rani Mukherjee who is all set to unleash her magical charm on the chote nawab in Kunal Kohli’s latest film Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Rani plays a fairy in this one, rumored to be an adaptation of the 1960s Hollywood classic Mary Poppins. The director of course refutes this saying that his movie is nothing like the one featuring Julie Andrews. Giving Saif and Rani company in Thoda Pyaar? will be four cute kids. The film is scheduled to release on June 27.
While on Rani, the latest buzz is that the actress will be stepping into Bipasha Basu’s glamorous shoes in Dhoom 3. Grapevine also has it that Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan will be doing Hrithik’s and Abhishek’s roles respectively.
Hrithik, Suzanne blessed with another baby boy
After being on a high following appreciation of his act in Jodhaa Akbar, Hrithik Roshan has another reason for feeling on top of the world. He has become father second time around. Wife Suzanne gave birth to a bonny boy on May 1. Now the Roshan family can truly be called the Krazzy 4!
Meanwhile, buzz has it that Hrithik will soon make his Hollywood debut with none other than Penelope Cruz. But he’s not talking about it, just keeping his fingers crossed. Back home, Sonam Kapoor is also said to have signed a film with Duggu. But ask either of them and their lips are sealed.
Ash-Abhishek, John-Bips in Miami
It’s destination Miami for two of the hottest couples of Bollywood! First Abhishek Bachchan had his wife Aishwarya join him there to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Now it’s John Abraham and Bipasha Basu who are soaking in the sun ‘n’ sand, albeit for just three days. The two heroes are in Miami, Fla., shooting for Karan Johar’s new film Dostana.
Incidentally, the buzz is that John is playing a gay character in Dostana and, yes, this is the same movie that Aishwarya turned down after she married Abhishek. “I would have been embarrassed doing the role,” the prim ‘n’ propah lady had been quoted as saying. Karan then offered the role to Priyanka Chopra who was quite happy to accept it.
