Vibha organizes Dream Mile 2022
Now in its 24th year, the Dream Mile has raised 18 million dollars so farof which it has donated over $215,000 to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), $67,500 to InspiredEdu, and thousands of dollars to International Community School. This year, it raised $250,000.
On September 25, as the sun rose over the parking lot at the Collections Mall in Cumming, hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers were at work setting up booths and helping everyone get ready for Vibha’s annual flagship event, the Dream Mile, sponsored by Paramount Software Solutions.
With over 1500 runners that included elite runners from all over Georgia, hundreds of volunteers, and dozens of sponsors, the total number of people at the event topped 2000, helping the Dream Mile keep its title as one of the biggest races in Atlanta. The races included a half marathon, 10K, 5K run, 5K walk, and 1K walk sponsored by UPS, 33 Holdings, Datum Software, Pyramid Consulting, and North Fulton Smiles respectively.
The pre-race warmup was conducted by Jazzercize followed by a flash mob organized by Vibha volunteers. The post-race activities included a kids’ carnival with henna and face painting booth, and delicious post-race refreshments. Vibha’s core volunteer team worked for months for this event, planning it with great attention to detail to ensure the best race possible. Puja Dubal, who worked on the kids’ activities booth and the flash mob,said, “I have never worked with such an incredible and dedicated group of people!” Sponsors congratulated Vibha for their amazing work. Gina Sharma from Keller-Williams, lauding the wonderful set-up of the race, said, “The Dream Mile race was so well organized by the volunteers and the Forsyth County Sheriff's office. This organization is truly making a difference in our community and across the globe.” Participants echoed the sentiment, appreciating Vibha’s planning and persistence towards the goal of helping as many underserved children as possible.
